Well done North Down

I am writing to thank the people of North Down and beyond who supported the 48 hour ‘Sleep Out’ over the weekend in the Sunken Gardens.
I am writing to thank the people of North Down and beyond who supported the 48 hour ‘Sleep Out’ over the weekend in the Sunken Gardens. Scott Baxter, who organised the event, has told me that they have raised over £7000 for destitute street children in Uganda and I’m sure that the money will be very well spent. I would also like to thank personally the Council Officers from NDBC who facilitated the event for Abaana and in particular Christine Mahon [Head of Development Services] and Stephen Dunlop [Town Centre Manager], without their understanding and helpfulness the event simply could not have happened. We should also commend the local traders of Bangor who provided many of us with free food and drink during the weekend. Despite the Friday night being the coldest of the year so far and the temperatures being below freezing, [in fact when I went to my box I noticed the fountain had completely frozen over!] I can safety say that everyone both enjoyed and benefited from the experience and a final well done to Scott for organising it!
Yours, in all sincerity,
Councillor Peter J Martin [DUP]
