Linda Lyons, Manager Beechfield CRU
“As a staff team, for the last three years we have hosted various events to raise the much needed money to renovate the scheme garden into a safe, stimulating and suitable environment for every child who attends Beechfield for respite, regardless of their level of ability. We very much hope that by hosting this summer fair, we will not only raise funds, but also increase awareness in the local community of the service we provide and of Praxis Care as an organisation.”
Cllr Peter Martin
“The excellent respite care that this centre provides for families is both welcomed and very much valued. I’m so glad to be able to support this ongoing work and also to raise the profile of the play garden they are trying so hard to renovate. I would encourage everyone who is free to make it along to this fair and support this charity.
Cllr Gordon Dunne MLA
“Respite care is crucial to families who are bringing up young people with learning difficulties and the centre at Beechfield provides the key essentials as part of their care package. As a member of the Assembly Health Committee I see the wider work which Praxis does across the province and want to pay tribute to this extremely hard working charity”
The fund raising fair is on Saturday 31st August from 10:30am–2:30pm. The venue is George Green Community Centre. Events include face painting, bouncy castle, dinky donuts, craft stalls, jewellery stalls, police, fire brigade, ice–cream van etc. This is to renovate the play garden as it is dated and unfit for purpose. Unfortunately the preparation work alone will cost around £10,000 – that is even before any equipment is even placed onto it.
